INFRARED FAQ

What is Infrared Sauna therapy?

Infrared light is necessary for all living things to grow and flourish. Infrared light is a part of the sun’s invisible spectrum of light that has the ability to penetrate the human tissue. Infrared heat heats the body directly rather than simply the air. The experience of an infrared treatment is similar to sunbathing, giving you that wonderful natural warmth. Unlike sunbathing, infrared heat therapy is completely healthy and safe. You can relax in an infrared sauna and it will never cause your skin to burn. Infrared heat penetrates human tissue and cells producing a host of health benefits.

Infrared Sauna Therapy is 7x more effective than a traditional sauna, and is effective at a low, soothing temperature. To deliver health benefits like anti-aging, weight loss, and detoxification, saunas need to emit high concentrations of infrared waves—not just heat. For infrared therapy to be successful, heaters must have a high emissivity level for the body to absorb infrared energy

Why is a Core Temperature Study so important?

It shows clinically how effective an infrared sauna will be at therapeutic healing. You want your core temperature to raise 3 degrees in 30 minutes, which is like creating a false fever to regenerate old cells into new cells. This is the secret to providing true therapeutic health benefits from an infrared sauna. If a core temperature study cannot be produced, then that is a red flag, or if the study doesn’t show a rise of 3 degrees in 30 minutes, then the therapeutic health benefits could be lacking. (Most saunas require you to sit in a cabin for 40-60 minutes, because the sauna doesn’t increase your core temperature to a therapeutic range for healing, detoxing, and sweating)

How often should I use the sauna?

One session will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. But similar to exercise, the more you do it, the better the results. Recommended use depends on your overall health goals, and your individual situation, but overall 3-4 times per week for 30 minutes is ideal.

When will I start sweating?

Sweat levels differentiate between each individual. Don’t be surprised if you don’t sweat during the first few sessions. Sweating will increase with regular use. Even if your body is not drenched in sweat, your body is still detoxifying from harmful toxins. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water before your session. If you are dehydrated, you will not sweat as much. If you are hydrated properly, you will sweat more.

Why Should I sweat?

There are so many benefits from sweating! Sweating is a great way to help realize your personal fitness, wellness and beauty goals. By increasing circulation, your body benefits from a number of positive effects, such as glowing skin, pain relief, weight loss, stress relief, increased athletic performance, improved immune function, injury recovery and more.

What do I wear?

To enable infrared to penetrate tissues as deep as possible, we recommend wearing a minimum of a swimsuit, or gym shorts and T-shirt or tank all are great options. The more skin exposed, the better.

What is Infrared Heat?

Infrared is a light wave on the electromagnetic spectrum that is invisible to the human eye. It penetrates human tissue, which in turn produces a host of anti-aging and health benefits.

How do Infrared Saunas differ from traditional?

Unlike traditional saunas which heat the body from the outside-in, resulting in hot, often intolerable air, our medical-grade infrared saunas heat the body from the inside-out, leaving the air pleasant and comfortable, allowing for a longer sweat.

How many calories do you burn in one session?

You can burn upwards of 600 calories in just one 30-minute sweat session. We like to call it “effective relaxation.”

How do you burn Calories while Sweating?

Infrared saunas have been proven to aid in weight loss by heating your core temperature to induce sweating. Increases in blood flow and heart rate are a result, which, much like moderate exercise, has shown to help you lose weight. Saunas also help you lose weight by easing aches and pains associated with weight training, helping you get back into the gym the next day.

How long is a session?

Our standard sweat sessions are 30-minutes long. However, if you are a veteran to sweating, we also have  “add-ons” available if you prefer a longer sweat session to get 45-60 minutes.

How many times/week Should I sweat?

We allow one sweat session per day. Depending on your goals, most people sweat one to three times per week. It is safe to sweat every day.

What are the EMF levels?  Are they safe?

Yes. The units come to us with zero EMF waves. This prevents wifi from creating unnecessary and unhealthy EMF waves with each sauna. The carbon panels are 100% quality controlled to ensure the safety & effectiveness of each individual heater.

-The shorter the wavelengths the less it’s going to penetrate into the body

-Red is the longest wavelength of the visible light spectrum that penetrates the body.

-Far infrared penetrates more deeply into the body

Red Light therapy stimulates, excites, normalizes & optimizes the function of the mitochondria.

CRYOTHERAPY FAQ

What is whole body cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is the practice of using cold temperatures to support healing and wellness and dates back to ancient civilizations. WBC is the modern application and stimulates the same rejuvenating and recovery benefits at a whole new level of cold in just three minutes.

Is it like an ice bath?

Whole body cryotherapy is similar to an ice bath in that it is a cold therapy. There are key differences. A whole body cryotherapy session is a maximum of three-minutes and an ice-bath is approximately twenty-minutes. Cryotherapy is a dry, painless cold and an ice-bath, at a minimum, is uncomfortable. WBC cold only penetrates the top layers of skin; an ice bath penetrates into the muscles and joints which introduces the potential for tissue damage and the potential to lower the body’s core temperature. WBC cold dissipates quickly; ice bath cold dissipates gradually.

Why do people use WBC?

People use whole body cryotherapy to compliment health and wellness initiatives. The Impact Industry Survey revealed the alternative modality provides relief from aches and pains to mental well-being.
